New concessions on 2024 baseball menu


For the new season of Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp baseball, peanuts and Cracker Jack are just the beginning.

The new foods highlight the 2024 roster for the Triple-A baseball club, which begins the first of a full six-game home series in the International League East on Tuesday against the Charlotte Knights at 121 Financial Ballpark.

As fans all over the First Coast and across the country know, the events on the field are just one part of a night at the ballpark.

Here’s a closer look at some of the new items on the menu for the new season on the diamond.

Impossible hot dog

For Jumbo Shrimp General Manager, Harold Crowe, he couldn’t believe it wasn’t meat.

“I feel like it’s hard to feel like I’m around a hot dog, but this guy gets it,” he said.

New to the stadium is the plant-based Impossible Hot Dog, which is being rolled out to fans in Jacksonville this season. It’s part of a range of meat-free products, which will also include the Impossible Burger, Impossible Chicken Nuggets and Impossible Meatball at the wing level.

Gillian Pye, director of premium experiences at Jumbo Shrimp, said the club added plant-based items in response to fans’ interest in healthier food options.

Due to Opening Day in March, Jumbo Shrimp technically joined the first wave of Impossible Hot Dogs in the minor leagues. The product was only launched in February.

For fans who prefer old-fashioned hot dogs the way Babe Ruth chewed them, Jumbo Shrimp’s traditional hot dog selections remain in place, highlighted by the $2 hot dog.

“This price will never change when we are in charge, when Keane is [Babby] “The team owns it, and we’re committed to it,” Bey said. “So you can always bring a family of four and eat for under $10 with a $2 hot dog.”

Frito pie

This year’s new stadium food on the First Coast will be the Frito pie, served straight from the bag of cornflakes.

These chips will be topped with spicy beef, cheese and scallions inside a chip bag. Fans can find him in the Craft Cave.

Also on the menu to be released later in the year will be the Walking Taco, based on Doritos corn tortilla chips, available at Sunshine Sandbar.

Churro sundae

It’s yum after yum.

A new churro sundae will be added to the menu this year, with vanilla ice cream, cinnamon sugar churro and chocolate sauce.

Still scheduled to come later in the year is a water-themed sandbar sundae with graham cracker crumbs, blue sprinkles and gummy sharks, Bay said.
