The Fashion Los Angeles Awards’ Top Red Carpet Moments


the Los Angeles Fashion Awards The FLAs hosted their eighth annual soiree at the Beverly Hills Hotel on Sunday evening. Before the ceremony, hosted by Celeste Barber, began, we took some time to chat with the winners, guests and others on the red carpet. From major professional events to family reunions, discover the biggest moments below.

What’s one of your favorite beauty moments from working together over the years?
Rachel Goodwin, Makeup Artist of the Year: “Do you know what came to me? No Marie Claire The cover we shot was in black and white. Your hair was dark, and it was so different for you, because we really did something… You looked so different! We’ve styled the 60s eyes and dark hair. I forgot what role it was, but you had dark hair. “It was a lot of fun to get out of the comfort zone and do something radically different, but there was so much more.”

Sarah Michelle Gellar: “I think, for me, always knowing that I never have to look in the mirror when I’m doing my makeup because I can control it 100% — which for a control freak like myself, is a pretty big step.”

RG: “I was saying you never look in the mirror, Sarah. She really never looks in the mirror! When I do her makeup, she just goes. I’ve never met anyone who put so much confidence in me, especially in the early stages of my career. It really gave me the confidence that I needed to know that I was meant to do this.

SMG: “I met her the week she moved to Los Angeles, transitioning from fashion to the dark side.”

Everyone in your family is very close. How do you stay together in Hollywood?
Lisa Rinna: “You just communicate, stay close. It’s really important.”

Harry Hamlin: “Love has something to do with it.”

Lear: “We love each other, and that’s good!”

How does it feel to be Model of the Year?
Amelia Gray, Model of the Year: “Wow! This is the first time I’ve ever heard that out loud, and like…actually, wow. Everyone in my speech is going to hear how I really feel. It’s so surreal. This was the first fashion event I ever attended when I was in I’m fifteen years old.

What do you wish you could tell yourself in your early design days?
Erin Walsh, Designer of the Year: “I wish I had known that I was already enough in the beginning. I think we all spend a lot of time doubting ourselves or doing some kind of self-analysis, when you realize that you’ve already had enough, this is your canvas and the passion and everything – then it becomes It’s really fun. You start giving yourself that compassion and that love.

Anastasia Soare, Beauty Innovator of the Year: “I want people to remember me as the woman who reinvented brows, that’s for sure. And continuing to come up with new ideas for product innovation. My daughter and I think she carried the torch of innovation and came up with amazing ideas and amazing products. It’s important to us.”

What do you know about your influence in the fashion world?
Bob Mackey, Lifetime Achievements: “People like what I do. It’s hard to answer! But on the other hand, people like to dress up for big occasions like this one or award shows, things like that. And it influenced him, I think.”

What’s a special moment you’ve had with Bob Mackey over the years?
Sandra Lee: “I went to an auction and bought two of his 1960s watercolors of Lucille Ball’s clothes, because he did the watercolors to show celebrities what they were going to wear before he made them. Then I went to the auction and bought one of the originals Sonny and Cher Abayas. I have to remove a rib to wear it, but I have it, and it’s great.

Celeste Barber, host: “I was going to say the weather, but that’s probably the most similar thing. I don’t know. I don’t have anything specific that’s different. The accents, not knowing what sarcasm is.”

How did you prepare for the first Fashion Los Angeles Awards?
Paige Desorbo: “I had a bunch of options and then I saw this, and I loved the collection, but I also thought it was a little different. I’m obsessed, for sure. I lay in bed all day, and after 30 minutes of hair and makeup, I got into the bathroom, and this was my prep.” for this day.
