The first look inside a local man’s dream to bring HILL’s Department Store snack bar to life has come true. This food truck will travel around the area and people will get snacks like popcorn and ice. Well, maybe not that big. Well, welcome to Hill’s Snack Bar. Jason Powell has revitalized the Hill Store snack bar by converting it into a food truck. I’m so excited. I’ve been going to Hill for years. I would go there just to eat, their pastries are amazing. I love their drinks. It was just a place to hang out and get good food. Pittsburgh’s 4th Action News got a sneak peek inside the truck ahead of the grand opening. Of course, we got the ice machine. Cherry Blue Coke Just seeing the logo was what made people stop to see if the truck was unlocked. I think this is great. When I heard the truck was coming, I said, ‘We’ve been waiting forever for this to happen.’ Finally here. Pittsburgh area families remember the Hills as a place where they not only spent time shopping, but made memories. They usually end their day with a snack. Jason wants to take people back in time by offering nostalgia with those favorite foods like their signature pretzels and sausages. Hill taste. Yes, we had a soft opening last weekend, and we’ve tried almost everything. The Hill Department Store once stood in Aliquippa’s Green Park Square. That’s where the grand opening will be on Saturday. The Hills Snack Bar food truck will be rolling into Allegheny County for the first time on our nation’s birthday. This celebration will take place at Moon Township Park on Ewing Road. The food truck launched last summer in Aliquippa. The truck bears the name of the former convenience store chain known as snack bars, serving popcorn, pastries and frozen drinks.
