UIndy Captures GLVC All-Sports Trophy for 12th Straight Year

INDIANAPOLIS – The University of Indianapolis has captured its 12th straight Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) all-sports trophy, the league office announced Monday. The Greyhounds totaled 199.5 points during the 2023-24 academic year, winning by 18.5 points over second-place Lewis University.

The trophy is UIndy’s 15th in program history, with wins in the 1978-79, 1994-95, and 2002-03 seasons, as well as the past 12 seasons, dating back to 2011-12. The GLVC did not award an all-sports trophy in 2019-20 due to the COVID-19 pandemic halting spring sports competition that year.

The GLVC All-Sports Cup is presented to the organization with the best overall performance in the 24 league-sponsored sports. Points are allocated based on overall finish in the sport’s conference championship and league standings.

UIndy has captured eight GLVC league titles this season to earn top-scoring points in men’s soccer, soccer, men’s swimming and diving, men’s and women’s golf, as well as men’s and women’s tennis, and women’s lacrosse. Additionally, the UIndy women placed second in swimming and softball.

The All-Sports Trophy was first established in the GLVC during the 1978-79 season with seven different institutions receiving the award.
