‘We need help:’ Orange County Animal Services makes plea to find homes for nearly 200 dogs

‘We need help:’ Orange County Animal Services is putting out an appeal to find homes for nearly 200 dogs

The shelter has reduced its shelter fee to $10 through May 19

Nearly 200 dogs need a special place to come home in Central Florida. On Monday, Orange County Animal Services says it received 48 of those dogs over the weekend. To help clean up the shelter, the adoption fee will be reduced to $10 through Sunday, May 19. “We need adopters, we need foster parents, we need volunteer support, and most importantly, we need people to share this message,” the shelter said in a social media post. The shelter says that although they get a lot of attention, there are… “There is not enough action.” Surprisingly, many of our recent appeals have gotten views, but not results. For example, our post two weeks ago highlighting our tallest residents reached nearly 75,000 people with 215 comments and over 3,600 shares. Yet the majority of these dogs remain with us, watching the days wander off to make room for new homeless pets, the shelter said. For a list of adoptable pets, click here.

The majority of these dogs are still with the shelter. “We are watching the days go by, moving around to make room for new homeless pets,” the shelter said.
