Commanders release K Brandon McManus after sexual assault lawsuit

a Two women filed a lawsuit in Florida last month accusing McManus of sexually assaulting them On the Jaguars’ trip to London for a game last season. The two women, whose names have not been revealed, were working as flight attendants on a charter plane bound for London to attend the Jaguars’ game against the Atlanta Falcons at Wembley Stadium. The women said the trip was their first work with the team.

The women alleged that the flight “quickly turned into a party,” and that McManus and others ignored their personal space, air travel safety and federal laws. McManus allegedly tried to recruit other party attendees, handing out $100 bills to try to get them to drink and dance for him.

The first woman said McManus tried to kiss her while she was sitting during the disturbance, and that he hit her twice while she was serving her food and drinks. The second woman said McManus also assaulted her during one of the in-flight meal services, and that he “smiled and walked away” after she confronted him.

McManus denied the accusations against him in a statement through his lawyer.

“To be clear, these are completely fictitious and patently false allegations that were made as part of a campaign to discredit and disparage a talented and respected NFL player,” McManus’ attorney, Brett R. Galloway, said. He said in a statement. “We intend to vigorously defend Brandon’s rights and integrity and clear his name by showing the truth of these allegations – an extortion attempt.”

The women also included the Jaguars in their lawsuit for allegedly failing to supervise McManus and failing to create a safe environment for employees. The Jaguars issued a statement saying they were looking “into the matter.”

“Earlier today, we learned of the civil lawsuit filed on May 24 against Brandon McManus,” the leaders said. he said in a statement after the lawsuit was first reported. “We take allegations of this nature seriously and are looking into the matter. We have been in contact with the league office and a Brandon representative, and will reserve further comment at this time.”
