Results 2022-23 AprilData for all schools includes the current multi-year cohort (2019-20, 2020-21, 2021-22, and 2022-23 academic years). The multi-year average APR for all sports at Wisconsin was 992, which is higher than the national average of 984 and meets one of the NCAA Academic Achievement Unit standards.

All 21 Wisconsin teams included in the report scored well above the threshold the NCAA requires for good standing, including 13 teams with perfect 2022-23 scores of 1,000.

The APR is a real-time measure of a team’s academic performance and is calculated by reviewing variables such as eligibility, retention and graduation rates for student-athletes competing on each Division I athletic team. Every Division I sports team across the country calculates its own APR each academic year, similar to a report card. Student-athletes who receive a scholarship each semester receive one point for remaining eligible and one point for remaining in school or graduating.

As tracked by the APR, more than 14,000 former college athletes have returned to school to earn their degrees since the NCAA created the measurement tool. Each of these students recovers the lost APR point for their team.
