The research, published in Families, Systems and Health, shows a strong positive relationship between how often people gather around the table during mealtimes, enhanced connectedness, reduced symptoms of depression, and improved overall mood.

Cilentani Caprese Pasta Salad

Preparation time: 10 minutes

Cooking time: 15 minutes

Meals: 7

1 box of Barilla protein + Selentani pasta

4 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil, divided

2 grape tomatoes, colored, cut in half

4 tablespoons lemon juice

8 basil leaves, cut into julienne

2 cups small balls of mozzarella cheese, cut in half

Salt to taste

Black pepper to taste

Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Cook pasta according to package directions and drain. Spray the pasta with a tablespoon of olive oil, then place it on a tray to cool. Sit aside.

In a large bowl, mix tomatoes, lemon juice, basil, remaining olive oil, and cheese. Add salt and pepper to taste. Add pasta and stir.

Linguine with zucchini carbonara

Preparation time: 5 minutes

Cooking time: 10 minutes

5 egg yolks

1 cup Pecorino Romano cheese, grated, divided

1/2 cup milk

Salt to taste

1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil

1 medium zucchini, cut into julienne

1 can of Barilla linguine

1 tablespoon fresh mint, chopped

Black pepper to taste

Bring a large pot of water to a boil.

In a bowl, mix the egg yolks with 1/3 cup Pecorino Romano cheese and milk. Season with salt to taste. Sit aside.

In a large frying pan, heat the olive oil and cook the zucchini.

Cook pasta according to package directions. Reserve 1/2 cup cooking water.

Mix the pasta in the pan with the zucchini. Add the egg yolk mixture and 2 tablespoons of the cooking water. Combine well.

Add remaining cheese and mint. mix up. Add salt and pepper to taste.
