Europarties discuss EU economy at Bruegel-FT debate

On April 15, the Brussels-based think tank Bruegel and the Financial Times hosted an expert discussion on EU economic issues that included representatives of European political parties.

European Liberal Forum CEO Alpha fin Join the stage with several other representatives from political parties or European institutions presenting the liberal point of view on economic policy and competitiveness.

The six participants shared their views in three different rounds of questions on competitiveness, growth, economic security and green transition.

“We need to return to the principle of one market, one rule. This will enhance competitiveness because it will make your business growth in Europe faster. Finn said.

We do not believe that we should reduce the volume of trade with China, but rather we should increase the volume of trade with others in order to create balance: diversification is essential to reduce dependencies.

“We need to have the right skills in the right places. Equip Europeans with the digital and sustainable skills needed for the transformation process, promoting lifelong learning, and mutual recognition of formal and informal learning. We need to prepare ourselves for these things, and many European workers do not feel ready yet.” .

Other European political parties represented in the debate were the European Left Party, the European People’s Party, the European Green Party, the Party of European Socialists and the Identity and Democracy Party.
